Police are appealing for information following a serious road traffic collision in the Tesco carpark, Larne Road Link, Ballymena on Tuesday 17th January.
Emergency Services rushed to the scene of the collision just before 11am this morning.
Two crews from Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) were tasked to the scene, as well as colleagues from the PSNI, Ambulance Service, and Air Ambulance HEMS.
A spokesperson for NIFRS commented:
"Firefighters were called to rescue a woman who had become trapped under a car.
"Firefighters used specialist lifting equipment to release the woman, who was then taken into the care of NIAS."
Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) confirmed that "after initial assessment and treatment at the scene, one patient was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital by Ambulance."
Appealing for witnesses to the incident, PSNI Inspector Edgar said:
"Shortly before 10:55am, it was reported that a silver Renault Clio collided with a woman in her 60s in the area. She was taken to hospital for her injuries, which are described as serious.
"Enquiries are continuing and we would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident, or who may have dash-cam footage available should contact police on 101 quoting reference number 540
