Woman and child injured after collision in Ballymena


Emergency Services rushed to the scene of a single vehicle collision in Ballymena on Friday evening, 28th April, after the driver suffered a medical emergency.


The incident occurred on the Cullybackey Road, just off the North Road junction in the town, shortly before 7.30pm yesterday.



Northern Ireland Ambulance Service despatched two ambulances to the scene, while Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service tasked two Appliances from Ballymena Fire Station.


Local police officers also attended and the Cullybackey Road was closed for a time with diversion in place while emergency services dealt with the incident. The road has since reopened.



A woman and a young child were taken to hospital by ambulance following the collision.


The condition of the woman and child are unknown.
