Emergency service crews rushed to the scene of an incident involving a vulnerable person in the early hours of Monday morning, 13th February, in Ballymena.
The alarm was raised when police received a report of a concern for safety of a vulnerable person shortly after 12:30am, in the vicinity of the Braidwater Retail Park, at Larne Road Link in the town.
Officers attended and assisted colleagues from other emergency services, including Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) who despatched one ambulance crew to the incident, as well as the Hazardous Area Response Team.
Two Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue service also attended, including two crews from Ballymena, and a specialist rescue crew from Belfast, who helped extract the person from the location on the River Braid.
One patient was taken to Antrim Area Hospital by Ambulance.
