PSNI Officers from the District Support Team (DST) carried out a stop and search of a person and vehicle in the Ballymena area under Section 23 Misuse of Drugs Act this evening (Saturday 13 November).
As a result one male was arrested for Possession of Class A with intent to Supply and Possession of Class C with intent to supply, after suspected heroin and tablets were located concealed within the vehicle.
Further to this arrest, a number of house searches were carried out where more suspected heroin and tablets were located and a second male was arrested for the same offences.
A quantity of cash was also seized.
Street value of drugs seized estimated to be £2500.
Both males are currently in custody.
In a separate operation on Friday afternoon (12 November), Detectives from the PSNI’s Paramilitary Crime Task Force investigating drugs criminality linked to South East Antrim UDA, arrested another man and recovered a quantity of suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of £10,000 in the Ballymena area.
