Two men aged 36 and 37 arrested on Tuesday afternoon (22 November) following a police pursuit have been released following questioning to allow for further police enquiries.
The pair were arrested after a Citroën C3 car, which failed to stop for police in the Ballyclare area, was stopped by officers using a stinger device in north Belfast.
A spokesperson from the Northern Ireland Roads Policing Unit commented yesterday following the pursuit:
"Officers from RPU Steeple, Auto Crime Team and Intercept Team united today in a cross District pursuit which started in Ballyclare and ended in North Belfast.
"As a result multiple arrests for Dangerous Driving, Failing to Stop for Police, Theft, Disqualified Driving, Dangerous Driving and other offences have been made and a vehicle seized along with stolen property recovered.
"Cross unit deployments are not uncommon, and the above results speak for themselves."
Enquiries are continuing, and an investigation is underway. Anyone who witnessed the incident, or anyone with dash cam footage is asked to call police on 101, and quote reference number 1044 22/11/22.
