There is something in the air, as a mysterious noise is claimed to be causing sleepless nights for residents in Omagh.

The rumour mill and conspiracy theories are buzzing in the County Tyrone town as locals attempt to track down the source of this strange and persistent humming noise which is believed to have started in 2023 and has captured both local and international media attention.

Finding some people in the town in a state of exhaustion, local journalist Emmet McElhatton is determined to get to the bottom of this mystery and teams up with Jamie Ryan, a repairman from the town whose personal fascination with sound has inspired him to launch his own private investigation.

Will Emmet and Jamie’s search for the truth about the Omagh hum finally put the issue to bed and give Omagh’s residents a good night’s sleep?

This film looks at life in a small town and features contributions from a range of local people, revealing how some stories capture the imagination and take on a life on their own.
