Translink’s special services prove popular ahead of the busiest events weekend of this year

In what promises to be one of the busiest weekends on the events calendar this year Translink is operating enhanced and special services, utilising all available resources.

 

Major events include Belsonic concerts in Belfast, the Foyle Maritime Festival in the North-West, three Taylor Swift concerts in Dublin, GAA Senior Football quarter-finals at Croke Park and Pride in Dublin.

 

Our additional services have proved very popular and many have now sold out.

Details of special services:

 

Belsonic

We are running a coach from Derry~Londonderry to Belsonic, as well as special trains on the Bangor, Larne, Coleraine and Portadown lines to get concert goers home afterwards. There is still some availability and passengers should book in advance.



Taylor Swift

We are operating nine coach specials to Taylor Swift (from Belfast, Derry~Londonderry and Dungannon), which have all sold out, as well as a rail special for each concert on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  There are still a limited number of train tickets available for the concerts on Friday and Sunday.

 

Foyle Maritime Festival

We are running additional late-night bus services for the Foyle Maritime Festival on Saturday night to ensure festival goers can make a day of it and get home safely.

 

GAA Senior Quarter Finals

While match fixtures were only announced on Monday, Translink has laid on special services for supporters.



A special coach is in place for the GAA Senior Quarter final between Armagh and Roscommon at Croke Park on Saturday and there are limited places available. Special train capacity sold out quickly after being announced.

 

Translink are also operating a coach special for the Derry v Kerry clash on Sunday from Foyle Street Bus station.

 

Due to the number of events in Dublin this weekend, the majority of our Enterprise services are sold out, including the 7pm and 8.50pm trains from Dublin on Saturday evening, with limited capacity remaining on Sunday evening.  We strongly advise customers to pre-book tickets when travelling to/from Dublin this weekend to avoid disappointment.



Special event travel, including late night services, operate outside our regular timetabled buses and trains and are priced separately.

 

Translink is also operating enhanced Metro and Goldliner timetables throughout the summer as infrastructure works for Belfast Grand Central Station intensify.
