Translink will be operating enhanced and special bus services to the ‘Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series at the Causeway Coast’ in Ballycastle later this week.
There are a range of public transport options for passengers travelling to the event at Ballycastle Harbour.
Outlining the enhanced services, Translink’s Service Delivery Manager, Coleraine, Sam Todd commented:
“We are operating special bus services on Friday 19th and Saturday 20th July from Belfast at 10am and 11am and from Foyle Street in Derry~Londonderry at 11am, with return services all departing at 9.00pm. These services must be booked online in advance on our website to guarantee a seat.

“Translink will also operate shuttle services from Park and Ride sites at two locations in Ballycastle – Whitepark Road and Black’s Haulage Yard on Glenshesk Road - from 11.00am until 9.00pm on both Friday 19th and Saturday 20th July into the town centre.
“We also expect our train services to be busy and we will be operating longer 6 carriage trains on the Derry~Londonderry line and to Portrush at peak times to manage demand. Passengers also have the option to then connect with enhanced 402 Causeway Rambler Services operating along the North Coast to Ballycastle alongside scheduled 171/172 services between Coleraine and Ballycastle allowing people even more options to get to this awe-inspiring event”.
Sam continued:
“We have a range of great value tickets on offer this summer - from our Family and Friends ticket for £24, offering unlimited day travel on all Translink services within Northern Ireland for up to two adults and four children; to the £10 Bus Rambler ticket for unlimited day travel on all Translink bus services within Northern Ireland after 9.15am.

Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens, Councillor Ciarán McQuillan is urging people to use public transport due to the limited availability of parking in the town. He said:
"We would encourage members of the public travelling to the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series to use Public Transport and the Park and Ride site as there is limited parking available in the public viewing location of Ballycastle.”
