STAFF RECOMMENDATION…

This week, we are recommending 'Idol' by Louise O'Neill

This has been a hotly anticipated release that has gotten everyone talking. 'Idol' is a exhilarating thriller that explores the new world of online influencers and celebrity lifestyle cults through the strange account of a girl that goes viral. If you're looking for something fresh, a thriller with a premise not like anything you've read before, this is the book for you. I couldn't put it down!

PLATINUM JUBILEE READS…

We have an excellent selection of books in store to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee that runs from Thursday 2nd June to Sunday 5th June. We have selected a few of our favourites here below.

'The Platinum Queen' by Derek Wyatt

This book looks at over 75 speeches that the Queen has made over the course of her reign. This is the first time her speeches have been published together in full, along with a narrative essay on the key events that followed each speech. Beautiful full colour photographs accompany the seven decades of history through the words of Britain's longest- reigning monarch.

'The Queen' by Bethan Holt

Bethan Holt takes a look at how the Queen's fashion has evolved over the course of her life. She uncovers the real stories behind the Queen's most memorable outfits, from childhood and today. She also speaks to the fashion designers who have worked closely with the Queen to create the iconic pieces and outfits we associate so readily with the Queen.

'Elizabeth II' by Alexander Schulman

'Elizabeth II' is a curated collection supervised by The National Portrait Gallery of over a thousand images of the Queen, from early days as Princess Elizabeth to now, celebrating her Platinum Jubilee. It does a fantastic job of reflecting on all aspects of the Queen's life, from personal family photos, to ceremonial occasions.
