Reasons for Reading Non-Fiction

Do you know when was the last time you read a book that wasn't Fiction? Most of us maybe don't read enough non-fiction. We would like to share some of the benefits that reading Non- Fiction can bring.

• Improves General Knowledge

The most obvious benefit is that if you get into a regular habit of reading non-fiction your general knowledge will significantly improve. There are so many subgenres to enjoy, such as History, Travel Writing or Nature. You can expand your horizons from the comfort of your own home, and learn something new.

Understand the Past

An important role that non-fiction plays is that through reading we can learn about our past both at home and elsewhere. Learning and understanding our history would be difficult without books to aid us.

Develops Analytical Thinking

Another amazing benefit of reading non-fiction is that it teaches us to think critically and analytically, by being exposed to different perspectives other than our own.

We will be sharing our favourite non-fiction books from our various sections in the store over the following weeks. Next week, we will be looking at our favourite books in Cookery!
