YOUNG ADULT BOOK CLUB...
The next meeting of our Young Adult is on Friday 2nd June at 4pm. We will be reading 'The First Move' by Jenny Ireland.
Juliet believes girls like her - girls with arthritis - don't get their own love stories. She exists at the edges of her friends' social lives, skipping parties to play online chess under a pseudonym with strangers around the world. There, she isn't just 'the girl with crutches'.
Ronan is the new kid: good looking, smart, a bad boy plagued by guilt over what happened to his brother Ciaran. Chesslife is his escape. Juliet thinks someone like Ronan could never be interested in someone like her - and she wouldn't want him to be anyway - he always acts like he's cooler than everyone else. Little do they know they've already discovered each other online, and have more in common than they think...
We look forward to seeing everyone at Young Adult Book Club, make sure to bring a friend with you!
NEW RELEASES...
• Happy Place - Emily Henry
Fizzing with romance, wit and characters to fall head over heels for, Happy Place is a gloriously feelgood novel of fake relationships and awkward holidays from the bestselling author of Book Lovers and Beach Read.
• Skandar and the Phantom Rider - A.F. Steadman
The spectacular sequel to the mega-selling Skandar and the Unicorn Thief finds our young hero and his friends embarking on their second year at the Eyrie amidst the terrifying slaughter of immortal unicorns by sinister, unknown forces.
SATURDAY STORYTIME...
Our next Saturday Storytime will take place on Saturday 6th May at 12pm. We will be reading 'The Kings Pants' by Nicholas Allan.
Following on from the unrivalled picture book classic 'The Queen's Knickers', Nicholas Allan spins the side-splitting story of what happens when King Charles III's undergarments are accidentally mailed out to the general public.
We will also have some colouring-in afterwards.
We look forward to seeing everyone at this special Coronation themed storytime!
