After today’s Twelfth celebrations around Northern Ireland, both BBC NI and UTV will feature coverage from a number of parade locations across the province.


BBC NI


The Orange Order’s annual Twelfth of July demonstrations will feature in a special, hour-long programme on BBC One Northern Ireland and BBC iPlayer at 9pm on Friday 12 July.


The programme will include film reports about Orange Order gatherings at eight regional locations – providing a sense of the day’s events and their importance for those taking part.



There will be the usual mix of music, colour and spectacle and an important insight into the Orange tradition and the role that it plays in community and cultural life. This will include a film report about a new junior girls' lodge in Kilkeel and footage of the annual re-enactment of King William's landing in Carrickfergus.


The Twelfth will be presented by Helen Mark, with expert commentary from Dr David Hume and Mervyn Jess.


BBC news coverage of the Orange Order's 12 July demonstrations, including key events and developments, will be available across radio, television and online.



UTV


UTV will cover the day's events extensively in a special programme on Friday evening.


Reporters on the ground throughout the day will provide stories and scenes from the main parades and celebrations from around Northern Ireland.


These will be will be featured as normal in a special programme to be aired at 11pm


This will be available after broadcast on the UTV section on ITVX.


In addition, there will be updates on UTV’s digital platform and our social media channels throughout the day.
