The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) is set to commence resurfacing works this week on the A43 Cushendall Road in Ballymena with a road closure planned to facilitate the upgrade to the carriageway.
The scheme will is scheduled to start tomorrow morning, Monday 20 March, at 9.15am and will continue for almost three weeks with an estimated completion date of Friday 7 April. A daily road closure will operate from the Cushendall Road roundabout to the junction with Quarrytown Road.
For local residents and essential access, a 40mph temporary speed limit will be in place between the roundabout and 100m past Cloughwater Road, for traffic driving over milled surfaces. Emergency Vehicles will be accommodated if required.
A diversion will operate from Rathkenny on the Cushendall Road via Knockan Road, through Broughshane on the A42 Raceview Road to Ballymena, and vice versa.
Ulsterbus services 131 toward Ballycastle, Marine Corner, and 150 to Cushendun Square will be impacted for the duration of the works
Daily bus services will be diverted via Broughshane and Knockan Road, while school bus services will be diverted via Knockan Road and Quarrytown Road.
