RADIO | The Big Walk

There’s nothing like some fresh air to put a spring in your step. It’s time to get out there and join BBC Northern Ireland for The Big Walk.

Over the course of eight weeks presenters from across BBC Northern Ireland are teaming up to take to the highways and byways in all six counties across Northern Ireland.

The Big Walk on BBC Radio Ulster and BBC Sounds on Sunday 5 June at 6.30pm, features Barra Best and Anne-Marie Wallace, who take a dander and chat as they walk up Divis and Black Mountain in County Antrim, meeting people along the way.

Among those also taking part in the series will be: Declan Harvey and Lynette Fay who walk around Florence Court, County Fermanagh; Stephen Nolan and Vinny Hurrell, who will take a walk down around Strangford Lough; Connor Phillips and Linda McAuley walking and talking from South Armagh into County Louth; while Sarah Brett and Michael Bradley will be on Downhill Strand, and Gemma Bradley and Hugo Duncan take a stroll through Gortin Glen.

During the past few years walking has become increasingly popular right across Northern Ireland, as many people have been discovering, and in some cases rediscovering, great places to get out and about.

And BBC Northern Ireland wants to hear from you, whether you walk on your own or with a group.

What is your favourite walk?

So get creative, as the more imaginative and entertaining the response the more chance we’ll be in touch and come to meet you. We want to know all about your favourite walk, what makes it special, and worth a visit.
