The Post Office can confirm that, subject to consultation, it plans to close Antrim Directly Managed branch located inside Castle Mall in November 2023.
The landlord has served notice on the existing premises as they plan to redevelop it.
There are four alternative Post Offices located close to where Antrim’s Directly Managed branch is presently located.
Ballymena Road Post Office is a short walk away and open similar hours between Monday and Friday. Greystone Road Post Office and Muckamore Post Offices are both open long hours, seven days a week and Parkhall Post Office is open six days a week from 8am. All three branches are operated by independent Postmasters and located approximately two miles away.
A six-week local public consultation has begun today (2 August 2023) on access to Post Office services at nearby alternative branches.
Customers can provide feedback until13 September 2023. Posters and leaflets will be displayed in branch to let customers know about the proposed change to provision in the area and how they can take part in the consultation process.
