Police make two arrests after teen stabbed in face

Police have made two arrests following a report of a stabbing in Newcastle on Friday evening, 11th April.
Detective Sergeant McCartan said:
“Shortly before 7.45pm, police received a report that a man had been stabbed with a blade in the Dundrum Road area of the town.
“The victim, aged in his late teens, sustained a number of stab wounds to his face and head.
“Colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service also attended the incident.
“Two males, one aged in his teens, and one aged in his 20s, were subsequently arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
“They remain in custody at this time, assisting with police enquiries.
“Our enquiries remain ongoing, and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed what happened, or who has any information which might assist, to get in touch. The number to call is 101, quoting reference number 1727 of 11/04/25.”
