Police attend local play park after report of children being approached

Police in Ballymena have attended an incident on Sunday afternoon (22 September) after it was reported that a man approached two children at a local play park.


A warning was publicly shared on social media by a parent who said two children were recorded by a man with a camera before he approached them, asking them if they wanted to play, at a play park on the Crebilly Road area of Ballykeel.



The parent shared:


"Ballykeel parents beware. Two children at the park playing when they were being watched by a man with his camera on and then approached and ask if they wanted to play.


"Children had the sense to go straight home. Shaken."



A spokesperson for the Police Service of Northern Ireland commented:


"Police received a report of a suspected suspicious approach in the Crebilly Road area of Ballykeel on Sunday afternoon, 22nd September.


"Officers attended, appropriate enquiries were conducted, and no offences were detected."
