Police are advising of road closures and traffic disruption in the Harryville and town centre areas of Ballymena tomorrow (Saturday, April 30) due to a planned parade.
The Anti-Protocol parade has been organised by Mid Antrim Combined Orange Districts and will assemble at Ken’s car park at 12.15pm on Saturday before moving off at 12.30pm making its way into Ballymena Town Centre, via Harryville Bridge and North Road.
The participants will gather at Harmony Hub, Broadway, for a rally in Ballymena town centre at 1pm.
The route will include Henry Street, Gilmore Street, Queen Street, Bridge Street, North Road, Pentagon, Lower Mill Street, Wellington Street, Church Street, Bridge Street, Henry Street.
These roads will be closed from approximately 12:15-3:30pm, however, the town centre will still be accessible via signed diversion routes.
Please follow local diversions, plan ahead and leave extra time for your journey.
From approximately 1215-1530hrs the following roads will be closed. This will impact traffic in the Town Centre and Harryville.
Larne Road Link (from Braidwater Roundabout to Bridge Street): 1215-1330hrs and 1430-1530hrs.
North Road (from Bridge Street to Cullybackey Road): : 1215-1330hrs and 1430-1530hrs.
Queen Street: 1215-1330hrs and 1430-1530hrs.
Larne Street: 1215-1330hrs and 1430-1530hrs.
Gilmore Street: 1215-1330hrs and 1430-1530hrs.
Henry Street: 1215-1330hrs and 1430-1530hrs.
Bridge Street 1215-1330hrs and 1430-1530hrs.
Linenhall Street: 1215-1330hrs and 1430-1530hrs.
Galgorm Road (from North Road to Waveney Road): 1215-1330hrs and 1430-1530hrs.
Mill Street: 1215-1530hrs.
Wellington Street: 1215-1530hrs.
Broughshane Street: 1215-1530hrs.
Church Street: 1215-1530hrs.
The Town Centre will be accessible via signed diversion routes and PSNI Officers will be on hand to assist motorists.
