Northern Ireland’s biggest food and agri event, the Balmoral Show, is getting ready to welcome thousands of people to its Lisburn venue and Translink is encouraging visitors to travel by bus or train to enjoy a great day out with easy, hassle-free travel.

The four-day show will run from 15-18 May at the Eikon Exhibition Centre and visitors will be able to take advantage of a schedule of rail services with and a free shuttle bus from Lisburn Train Station taking them directly to the show. Selected Enterprise services between Dublin and Lanyon Place Station will also stop at Lisburn station to help get people to the event.

The shuttle service will provide a quick and easy way for showgoers to gain access to the event. Operating approximately every 15 minutes throughout the day, and more frequently at peak times, the service will start half an hour before opening time, with a final shuttle 30 minutes after closing.

With work on the new Belfast Grand Central Station progressing at pace, passengers are reminded that Belfast’s Great Victoria Street Train Station will be closed from Saturday 11 May to facilitate these works. However, passengers can still make easy connections to Lisburn Station with a range of alternatives.

Rail passengers should change at Lanyon Place station for services to Lisburn, while bus passengers travelling into Europa Bus Centre can walk or use local metro bus services to make their way to Lanyon Place, City Hospital or Botanic Station to take the train to Lisburn.

Passengers are encouraged to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journey. Help in planning journeys, fare information and advice on connecting services passengers are available using the journey planner app or Translink website.

Rail customers can avail of local Metro, and Glider services between Lanyon Place or the new York Street Station and the City Centre on presentation of a valid rail ticket.
