Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service is battling a large gorse fire in the area of Glenariff Forest Park, near Cushendall, on Wednesday afternoon, 14th June.
Plumes of smoke could be seen rising from up to 10 miles away.
Motorists are advised that Ballyeamon Road, Glenariff, has been closed while crews deal with the fire.
Elsewhere firefighters are responding to a gorse fire at Corleaghan Road, Clogher, with the extended heatwave conditions making for a challenging environment.
A Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) spokesperson said:
“NIFRS is in attendance at 2 separate wildfire incidents this afternoon involving a large number of Firefighters and Fire Appliances.
“At 1.56pm we were called to a gorse fire on Ballyemon Road, Glenariff. 10 Fire Appliances, 1 High Volume Pump and Specialist Wildfire Officers are currently in attendance.

“At 11.30am we were called to a separate gorse fire on Corleaghan Road, Clogher. There are currently 4 Fire Appliances, a Water Tanker, a High Volume Pump and a Command Support Unit in attendance.
“These incidents are ongoing and so the public is advised to avoid these areas.
“The gorse fire at Slievenaman Road, Newcastle, which we were called to at 5.03am this morning, was extinguished at 4.02pm.”

Commenting on the scene in County Antrim, a spokesperson for the PSNI said:
"The Ballyeamon Road in Cushendall is currently closed to traffic due to a fire in the area. Diversions are in place at the Middlepark Road and Glenariff junctions. Please avoid the area if possible."
