Northern Ireland Water has appealed to the public to stay away from their sites. It comes after Storm Éowyn caused significant damage to NI Water Reservoirs and Recreation sites.
A spokesperson for NI Water said:
“NI Water teams have been working hard to clear and repair the extensive damage caused, however, there are some trees that will need to be felled as they are damaged. Therefore, the public are asked to stay away from reservoirs and recreation sites over the coming weeks.
“Health and safety is our number one priority and we will continue to assess our sites and will inform the public when they are once again safe to access.
“NI Water also has a number of generators operating at assets that currently do not have a stable electric supply following Storm Éowyn. NI Water would like to remind the public to maintain safety and never approach generators because of the risks, including electric shock.”
