The Northern Ireland Valais Blacknose Club (NIVBC) is hosting an action-packed family day out on Saturday, July 8th at Ballymena Livestock Market on the Woodsides Road.
The day will feature a sheep grading event, with esteemed Swiss-trained judges David Hodge and Phil Garrod grading the best of NI's Valais Blacknose sheep. This comprehensive process looks at breed character, confirmation, and markings of these beautiful sheep and awards a score for each depending on age.
In addition to the sheep grading, the day will also feature a sheepdog demonstration by world champion sheep dog trainer and trialist James P Magee. Magee will be joined by his award-winning team of Collie dogs, and attendees will have the opportunity to see them in action.

James will also be available to answer lots of your 'sheepdog questions' - there is no better man for the job!
The NIVBC is also hosting their own Show and Young Handlers event, so bring your family and enjoy a day of fun and learning.
With the mart transformed into a shopping village, there will be plenty of craft, shopping, and trade stands to browse. Why not make a day of it and stay on for a summer evening BBQ with music, chat, and fun!
