The Northern GP Federation Support Unit (NFSU) has unveiled an exciting new venture, the Medical Administration Academy, in collaboration with the Mid & East Antrim Council Labour Market Partnership (MEALMP).
This pioneering programme, set to commence on 18 March 2025, aims to provide participants with the specialised skills and expertise required to excel in medical administration roles within GP practices across Mid and East Antrim.
Funded by the Department for Communities, Labour Market Partnerships like MEALMP develop tailored employment action plans for council areas, fostering collaboration at both local and regional levels to guide individuals towards meaningful work.
This academy represents a significant step in that mission, offering a comprehensive training curriculum designed specifically to meet the needs of GP practices.
The programme will run until May 2025, with classes scheduled two days a week. Participants will gain an in-depth understanding of the responsibilities and challenges of medical administration, ensuring they are well-prepared to support healthcare services upon completion.
The initiative promises to open doors for those eager to build or advance their careers in this vital sector.
“We are thrilled to offer this opportunity to individuals looking to enhance their skills and step into medical administration roles,” said a spokesperson for the NFSU.
“If you’re a GP practice in the Mid & East Antrim Council area, we’d love to hear from you. Share your current employment opportunities with us and help us connect these talented participants with rewarding careers.”
For GP practices interested in participating or individuals seeking further details, Naomi Hutchinson and Hannah Wilson at the Northern GP Federation Support Unit are the key contacts. They can be reached via email at info@northernfsu.co.uk or by phone at 028 9620 8333.
The NFSU and MEALMP are eager to partner with local GP practices to ensure the academy’s success, creating a lasting impact on both participants and the healthcare community in Mid & East Antrim.
This programme marks a significant investment in workforce development, promising to bolster the region’s medical administration capabilities for years to come.
