Plans for a new multi-million pound storage and distribution facility at Nutts Corner for award-winning construction and property development company Heron Bros Ltd have got the go ahead from Antrim and Newtownabbey Planning Committee in just 17 weeks.
The new 250,000 sq ft premises will include warehouses, cold dock and office accommodation will create up to 200 temporary jobs during construction and a further 230 permanent jobs upon completion.
Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Alderman Stephen Ross said:
“Once again the efficient work from our planning officers has been demonstrated in this major planning application which has been completed in just 17 weeks.
“I welcome this significant investment by Heron Bros Ltd to our Borough. This is a great boost for the local economy with an estimated £35M investment in the construction sector alone.”
Chair of Antrim and Newtownabbey Planning Committee Alderman Dr Fraser Agnew said:
“This is great news for the Borough, this multi-million investment will contribute to the Councils plans for attracting £1bn investment and the creation of 2500 jobs by 2025.”
