The Transport Academy is one of a suite of interventions contained within Mid and East Antrim Labour Market Partnership’s (MEALMP) annual action plan.

Labour Market Partnerships, which create targeted employment action plans for council areas, are funded by the Department for Communities, and allow for collaboration at local and regional level to support people towards and into work.

The Partnership is led by Council and includes a range of community, voluntary and statutory stakeholders working together to overcome local employability challenges with the primary objective of supporting more people into meaningful employment.

Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Alderman Gerardine Mulvenna, said:

“Council is delighted to once again open applications for the next round of the Transport Academy. This is an exciting opportunity for eligible candidates to gain the necessary training, theory and practical learning needed to pass the Category C (HGV Class 2) licence or a PCV (bus/coach) licence – which will greatly enhance their employability and future prospects in this career field. I would encourage anyone interested to find out more.”
