The Met Office has updated its yellow weather warning advising that rain will impact Northern Ireland throughout the day and may lead to some flooding and transport disruption in places.
The weather advisory which has been in place since 8:00pm on Wednesday evening, 25th September, has been extended until 6:00pm today, Thirsday 26th September.
A spokesperson for the Met Office said:
“Outbreaks of rain will be persistent and heavy at times during Thursday. Eastern counties will see the largest rainfall amounts, especially across County Down and County Antrim, where 30 to 50 mm is likely quite widely, and perhaps as much as 60 to 80 mm across high ground such as the Mournes.
”Despite recent dry weather, this may lead to some flooding and transport disruption.
“The rain is expected to slowly ease through the late afternoon period.”
