Man wearing ‘Oodie’ with bunny ears arrested after 66 counts of criminal damage reported in Ballymena

Police in Ballymena have arrested and charged a 22-year-old man who went on a rampage of damaging vehicles in the town in the early hours of Thursday morning, February 13.


Reports of damage to vehicles were reported in the areas of Dans Road, Grange Avenue, Kelvin Close, and Garley Mews,


Wearing an ‘Oodie’ with bunny ears, the male ripped windscreen wipers of vehicles, cracked and smashed windows, scored paintwork, and broke wing mirrors off multiple vehicles.



A number of residents were awoken by their Ring doorbells being activated.


On Friday morning a spokesperson for the Police Service of Northrrn Ireland confirmed:


 “A 22-year-old man has been charged with 66 counts of criminal damage and one count of attempted criminal damage.

 

“He is due to appear at Coleraine Magistrates Court on Friday 14th February. As is normal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.”
