Police have confirmed that a motorcyclist is in critical condition in hospital following a collision which took place on Wednesday evening, 22nd November, on the Cullybackey Road, in Ballymena.
The collision happened at the crossing of the Treeshan Road and Sand Road. The main Cullybackey Road was closed for a number of hours following the two vehicle collision, but has since reopened.
A spokesperson for the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said:
"The incident, which involved a car and a motorcycle, was reported to police at around 5:45pm. The male motorcyclist aged in his 50s was taken to hospital for his injuries and his condition is described as critical.
"One man aged in his 20s was arrested for various offences and remains in police custody at this time.
"Officers would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or to anyone with dash cam footage which could assist with their enquiries, to contact them on 101 quoting reference number 1419 22/11/23."
