Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland's Major Investigation Team, investigating the death of Sophie Watson, 57 years in Magherafelt, on Sunday 18th August, have charged a 43-year-old man with her murder.
The man is due to appear at Londonderry Magistrates' Court on Wednesday 21st August.
As is normal procedure all charges are reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
It follows a report received by police, on Sunday afternoon, 18 August. Responding to the report officers found the woman unresponsive in her home in the Ashgrove Park area of Magherafelt.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
