Police have arrested a 20 year old man on suspicion of attempted theft, following an incident in the Broughshane Street area of Ballymena, on Sunday, 19th February.
The arrest is in relation to a report of a man who demanded money from Diamond's newsagents shortly before 10.20am on Sunday morning.
Eugene Diamond, who has served the local community with his newsagents shop for over 40 years, closed for a short while after the incident before reopening again.
Police confirmed the man has since been released on police bail to allow for further enquiries.
