In an ongoing effort to disrupt drug-related activities in Ballymena, PSNI District Support Officers patrolling the Harryville area of the town executed a successful operation on Friday, August 23rd.

An amount of Class A and Class C drugs were seized and one individual was arrested.

During a routine patrol, officers had cause to stop and search a vehicle under the Misuse of Drugs Act. The search yielded a quantity of drugs, believed to be of Class A and C categories, leading to the immediate arrest of a male occupant on suspicion of possession and intent to supply illegal substances.

Following the vehicle search, officers conducted a subsequent search at a related property, where they discovered additional quantities of suspected Class A and Class C drugs. The find underscores the ongoing efforts by local police to dismantle drug supply networks within the community.

Police in Ballymena issued a statement emphasising their commitment to community safety:

"Officers throughout our district will proactively seek out those suspected of supplying drugs to our communities and search wherever is needed. Often, these operations are a result of information and concerns raised by members of the public."

The police encourage anyone with information regarding drug activities or any other criminal behavior to come forward. Reports can be made by contacting the non-emergency number 101, or for those wishing to remain anonymous, Crimestoppers can be reached at 0800 555 111.

The arrested individual remains in custody as investigations continue.
