Major ongoing incident on the North Coast

HM Coastguard is currently in attendance at a major ongoing incident on the North Coast this evening, Saturday 22 February.


Local Coastguard teams were tasked on Saturday afternoon at around 2:20pm to an incident in an area near to the Giant’s Causeway, on County Antrim’s North coast.



It is understood that a body was discovered in the Causeway Road area of Bushmills.


A spokesperson for the NI Ambulance Service stated:


"The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 4.57pm on Saturday February 22 following reports of an incident at the Giant’s Causeway,” said a spokesperson.


"NIAS despatched a rapid response paramedic to the incident.


"No patients were taken from the scene.”
