Local schoolchildren nominate teachers for a Ballymena Gift Card treat!

Ballymena gift card

Six very special teachers were presented this week with a £100 Ballymena Gift Card to treat themselves from a choice of over 100 local businesses in Ballymena town centre.

The Ballymena BID team enjoyed visiting a number of schools on Monday, 12 June, to surprise the winners of the 'Treat Your Teacher' competition which was held throughout the month of May.

In show of appreciation for our local classroom heroes, primary school pupils were asked to write a letter, nominating and explaining why their teacher, classroom assistant, principle, caretaker or any school staff member was 'simply the best'.

Out of the many letters received the BID team choose six 'BEST of the best' to receive a beautiful bunch of flowers from Blossom & Birch as well as the versatile Ballymena Gift Card.

Over the last weeks the team have been highlighting the benefits of the Ballymena Gift Card which helps provide a convenient yet meaningful gift, allowing the person to choose how they spend the card from a wide variety of retail outlets and services, while supporting the fantastic range of local businesses in Ballymena town centre.

Commenting on the competition, Manager of Ballymena BID Emma McCrea said:

"Throughout the month of May we ran a competition on our social media platforms (@ballymenameans) giving children the opportunity to nominate their teacher for a prize.

"The response was overwhelming and reading each of the letters and emails that crossed our desk had us very emotional!

"It was evident that all the teachers in our district are loved by both pupils and parents and if we could have given every nominated teacher a prize we would have.

"Choosing the winners wasn’t easy, but we are delighted to now announce the winners."
