The staff of Cambridge House Grammar School in Ballymena have shared their condolences and paid tribute to 18-year-old student Andrew Logan who sadly passed away after a long illness.
In a short statement a spokesperson for the school said:
“Everyone at Cambridge House Grammar School was extremely saddened and upset to hear of the passing of our Year 14 student, Andrew Logan, after a long illness.
“Andrew was a very popular young man and was well liked and respected by peers and staff alike.
“The whole school community sends its deepest sympathies to Andrew’s family and friends, who will be remembered in our thoughts and prayers at this most difficult time.”
A Service of Thanksgiving for the life of Andrew will be held on Tuesday 20 August.
A funeral notice from S & J Irvine Funeral Directors states:
“Called home 16 August 2024 (aged 18 years) peacefully at hospital surrounded by his loving family.
“Loved and cherished son of Colin and Ruth. Much loved brother to Ian, Emily and Jack, dearly loved grandson of Bertie.
”House private please.
“A Service of Thanksgiving for Andrew’s life will be held in Second Broughshane Presbyterian Church (kindly granted) on Tuesday 20th August at 2.00 p.m. followed by interment in Second Broughshane New Cemetery.
“Donations in lieu, if desired, to Young Lives vs Cancer or The Children’s Cancer Unit Charity c/o S & J Irvine Funeral Directors, 48 Rashee Road, Ballyclare, BT39 9HJ.
