Junior Parkrun takes off at Antrim Castle Gardens
Antrim Castle Gardens proudly announces the successful launch of its first Junior Parkrun, with an impressive turnout of almost 40 children from the Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough.
The Junior Parkrun takes place every Sunday morning at 9.30am, offering a safe trail for young runners and walkers to explore the Gardens. This exciting weekly event is designed to provide children aged 4 to 14 with an opportunity to enjoy exercising in a fun way and to meet new friends.

Deputy Mayor, Councillor Rosie Kinnear, launched the run and commented:
“Having witnessed the success of Parkrun at Antrim Castle Gardens for adults, I am delighted that Parkrun has chosen Antrim Castle Gardens as the venue to introduce the Junior Parkrun in the Borough.
“It was truly inspiring and so much fun to watch young children being introduced to the joy of running at this early age, with the hope that they will continue this passion into adulthood."

The Junior Parkrun provides a free, fun and secure way for children to start running, regardless of their ability or experience level.
