This is the easiest cake to make but absolutely one of my favourites! I love it on its own or served with custard for those old-school memories!

INGREDIENTS…
For the cake:
225g butter or spread
225g caster sugar
285g self-raising flour
2 tsp baking powder
4 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract or paste
4 tbsp milk
For the icing:
200g icing sugar
31/2 tbsp milk
Sprinkles of choice
INSTRUCTIONS…
Preheat oven to 160 degrees fan. Line a 9x13 inch traybake tin with baking paper.
Mix all the ingredients together in a stand mixer or in a large bowl with a hand mixer for 2 minutes.
Pour into the lined tin. Cook in the oven for
28-35 minutes until golden and a skewer comes out clean.
Remove from the tin onto a cooling rack and peel off the baking paper gently. Allow to cool fully before topping with the icing.
Mix the icing sugar and milk in a bowl until it's fairly thick in consistency so that it won't run straight off the cake.
Top with sprinkles and enjoy. Serve with custard for an old-school pudding!
