Have some frightful fun in Mid and East Antrim this October!

Spooky Halloween character

As the leaves fall and the nights grow darker, Mid and East Antrim Borough Council is thrilled to announce a series of fang-tastic Halloween events that promise to electrify and entertain! From family-friendly fun to spine-chilling spooks, there’s something for everyone this October!

 

Larne Town Park: Halloween Hooley

Tuesday 29 October

 

The park will turn into monster mash of chills and thrills for all you ghosts and ghouls! Taking place from 6pm – 8.30pm, there will be plenty of spine-tingling fun - from breathtaking fire juggling shows and live music to spooky storytelling and a UV disco to get all your little pumpkins moving and grooving!



Meet some of your favourite Halloween characters on a self- guided walk through the Park which takes around an hour to complete. A surprise Halloween celebrity will appear with an interactive special effect show at his “Spooky House”, plus a bespoke show on the theatre stage, “The Time Travellers’ Halloween Adventure.”

 

The evening in the park will also feature fire poi displays, bubbles, bugs and beasties, a kid’s disco, live music stage, arts and crafts, and messy play in the Witch’s Kitchen. Weather permitting - there will be a fantastic firework display at 8.15pm.



This is a FREE event and a ticket is NOT required. For the first time a “quiet time” will run from 5pm to 6pm when effects and noise will be kept to a minimum.  There will also be a range of tasty food wagons available on site.

 

There will be limited parking available on site at Larne Town Park or Larne Leisure Centre, which is a short walk along the promenade.  Please note, the path leading to the Park is via the short steep Snake Path, which will close at 7.45pm to allow for the firework display. Please use alternative entrances from this time.There will be limited amount of blue badge parking available on Bankhead’s Lane.

 

Hallowena: The People’s Park, Ballymena

Wednesday 30 October

 

Tickets are now sold out for one of the scariest nights of the year at People’s Park, Ballymena, on Wednesday 30 October from 6pm to 8.30pm.

 

The all-ages event will thrill and chill with a packed programme of spooktacular activities for all your little monsters to enjoy!



With a fire display, a fancy dress competition, illuminated tree walk with themed actors, kids disco, spooky walkabout characters, sensory play, a kiddies funfair, live music and fireworks – there’s something to keep everyone entertained!  

 

Quiet time will run from 5pm to 6pm when effects and noise will be kept to a minimum.  

 

NO entry will be allowed at the gates without a ticket.

 

Spooky Halloween character

CarrickFEARgus: Shaftesbury Park, Carrickfergus

Thursday 31 October

 

Tickets for this spectacular event sold out quicker than a witch on a broomstick!

 

Lucky ticket holders will meet some of their favourite Halloween characters as they make their way around the event, which is sure to have some tricks and treats along the way! A much-loved Halloween character will make an appearance with an interactive special effect show at the “Spooky House” in the park as well as a bespoke show on the theatre stage, “The Time Travellers’ Halloween Adventure”.

 

The self-guided walk through the park will take about 1 hour and features fire poi displays, bubbles, bugs and beasties, a kid’s disco, arts and crafts, and messy play in the Witch’s Kitchen.

*For everyone’s safety, alcohol or fireworks are NOT permitted at all three events and under 16’s must have a responsible adult accompanying them.

 

Cauldron of Chaos Halloween Trail: Carnfunnock Country Park

Saturday 2 November

 

Are you brave enough to wander the trail and encounter scary live Halloween characters in a quest to find the missing potions in the Cauldron of Chaos!

 

Help the Wicked Witch collect her missing potion ingredients - she has magically changed them into Halloween symbols - use yourdecipher to crack the codes.



Keep your eyes open, the ingredients could be anywhere and you never know what ghouls you might find long the way......

 

Saturday 2 November - 11.30am - 3.30pm

Duration: Approx 1 hour

Cost: £4 per child (under 14) and £3 per adult (ages 14+) plus booking fee.

Carnfunnock Halloween Activities

Sunday 03 November


11.00am – 1.30pm - Little Monsters Walled Garden Halloween Trail (short walled garden trail for younger children aged under 10 yrs – worksheet and prize / medal for participants)

 

1.30-3.30pm - Enchanting Petting Farm (free event) all ages

Visit the Enchanted Petting Farm and meet and some Halloween creepy crawlies, Penny the Alpaca, Brussel and Sprout the pygmy goats and all their farmyard friends. The Petting Farm offers a traditional farm experience, providing interactive fun with a range of typical farmyard animals.
