Mid and East Antrim Borough Council have some great summer events coming up this month at Mid Antrim Museum at the Braid!
From Tea Dances, Table Quizzes , Dinosaurs and Baby Raves there is something for everyone.

DJ sessions Age 7yrs +
Tuesday 6 August 11am - 12:30pm
The Braid, Ballymena (Atrium)
In this workshop learn how to mix tracks with professional DJ Gleave Dobbin, on the latest Djing equipment and record your final mix. Tickets are £5 and spaces are limited - so booking is essential!
Free Afternoon Tea Dance

Dancing to the fabulous Deluxe Band with all the old favourites and some new tunes!
Admission is free, no ticket required, just turn up for a lovely afternoon.
Dust off your dancing shoes and come and join us for tea, buns and fun!
Come alone, bring a friend, everyone welcome! Even if you don't want to dance! Sit back with a cuppa and watch everyone else.
Cyanotype Printing Workshop
Saturday 10th August
Carrickfergus Museum
Join artist Trevor Ferris for a creative workshop where you will learn about the process of cyanotype printing and take your piece of art home. Using a light-sensitive surface you will place your objects or supplied transparencies, expose it to sunlight and then develop a beautiful photographic image.
All materials are provided but you may bring your own items to capture, such as ferns or flowers or suitable objects to make a silhouette on the paper.

Meet the Maker & stitching demonstration
Wednesday 21 August 2pm - 3:30pm

The ‘Stitching A Story’ exhibition showcases textile artist Wilma Kirkpatrick’s award-winning work. The retired University of Ulster teacher of embroidery of over 40 years, presents a selection of quilts and samplers both hand-stitched and machine made.
During this afternoon, Wilma will highlight the techniques used to create her quilt
and demonstrate how to stitch a patchwork style quilt as well as talking about how she has restored a C19th sampler.
The demonstration will take place in the Exhibition Gallery, Mid Antrim Museum, the Braid.
Questions ‘N’ Craic Table Quiz
Wednesday 21 August 2pm - 4pm

Dinosaurs Live

Join us for a Roarsome time! Experience the excitement as the Museum is taken over by life-like roaring dinosaurs.
Don’t miss your chance to get up close and personal with these amazing creatures! Meet the 25ft long triceratops, 15ft long raptor, baby dinos and their rangers plus check out their amazing fossil museum. Entry is £3 advance booking is advisable.
This is a drop in activity not a staged performance.
