Funeral notice announced for missing Ballymena man Alastair McIlroy


The funeral details have been announced this afternoon, Sunday 15th December, for Ballymena man Alastair McIlroy.


Mr McIlroy went missing following a work Christmas party last Saturday night, and was last seen in the area of Leighinmohr Avenue in the town.


Over the last days Alastair’s family and friends have been appealing for the public’s help in finding their loved one.



A funeral notice published by James Henry Funeral Services says:


“McIlroy Alastair John 8th December 2024, after a tragic accident, late of 1 Camphill Park, Ballymena. Much loved son of Margaret and the late Harry. Beloved father of Louise and Jay, father-in-law of Peter and Laura, devoted grandfather of Logan, Abbie, Noah, Sophie, Hope and dear brother of May, Carol, Leonard and the late Bobby.


“Funeral service in Henry’s Funeral Parlour, 100 Broughshane Street, Ballymena BT43 6EE on Tuesday 17th December at 1.30pm, interment afterwards Ballee cemetery.



“House strictly private. No flowers please, donations in lieu if desired may be sent to James Henry Funeral Services, address above, for Community Rescue Service.


“Always loved and remembered by his family and family circle.”
