Four people have been taken to hospital for treatment to their injuries following a multi-vehicle collision at Foreshore, Belfast on the M2 motorway on Friday afternoon.


Four lanes of the motorway were closed for a time while emergency services responded to the collision, but motorists are advised that all lanes of the M2 Southbound at its Fortwilliam junction are now fully reopened following the incident.



Inspector McCartney said:


“Police received and responded to a report of a collision in the area shortly before 1.30pm today, Friday 31st January.


“Colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service also attended the scene.



“Four people were taken to hospital for medical treatment for injuries which at this stage, are not believed to be life threatening.


“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the collision, and we are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time, and may have captured any dash cam or mobile phone footage, to contact us via 101, and quote reference number 772 of 31/01/25.”
