Former Ulsterbus driver, Albert Moore, was delighted when Translink’s Ballymena team helped him to celebrate his 100th Birthday in style yesterday (Tuesday 21 June).
A resident at the local Craigdun Nursing Home, the staff said they have enjoyed a lovely few weeks celebrating with Albert, who would tell you himself, that he has been a bus driver “all his life”.
The Translink team took a bus down to the care home, knowing it would be the perfect surprise, and took him out for a short trip with his extended family before presenting him with a few lovely gifts.
The trip was extra special as it was also Albert’s first time leaving the care home since before covid!
A spokesperson for Craigdun commented:
“Special thanks to Raymond Edwards and his team at Translink for arranging to take Albert out on the bus for his birthday.
“Also, a big thank-you to the local children from Buick Memorial Primary School, and The Diamond Primary School, Cullybackey, for their fabulous birthday cards they made for the occasion!”
Happy Birthday Albert!
