The Department of Health has confirmed today, Friday 11 August, that an arrangement has been agreed for the patients of Galgorm Surgery, Ballymena.
It comes after the surgery announced recently that it would be handing back it's contract to the Department and closing.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the Department of Health said:
"The Department of Health can confirm that Rockfield Medical Centre has been appointed as the new contractor providing GP services to the patients of Galgorm Surgery, Ballymena.
"All staff and patients of Galgorm Surgery will be transferred to Rockfield Medical Centre with effect from 1 September 2023.
"A letter will be sent to all 2515 patients of Galgorm Surgery with the new telephone and address details of Rockfield Medical Centre.
"It follows extensive work to identify a new GP contractor to take over the practice, following the termination of the contract by the previous contractor in May 2023."
