Dogs Trust Ballymena to host first-ever Bark Life event

Dogs Trust Ballymena Bark Life Event leaflet

Dogs Trust Ballymena is gearing up for their inaugural Bark Life event this weekend, a fun-filled family day dedicated to all things canine.

Set to take place at Ballee Playing Fields on Saturday, July 6th from 9:30am to 5:00pm, this free event promises a range of activities that both dogs and their owners will enjoy.

The highlight of the day is the Fun Dog Show, where participants can enter their dogs in various categories including Best Rescue, Loveliest Lady, Best Trick, and Golden Oldies. For those looking to enhance their bond with their furry friends, Dogs Trust Dog School staff will be on hand to provide tips and training advice.

The event will also feature interactive activities such as the 'Wheel of Pawtune,' 'Doggy Dash,' and 'Sniffari,' an enrichment garden designed to engage dogs' olfactory senses. Entertainment includes the 'Barkfast Show,' a unique take on a breakfast show that will highlight the importance of enrichment and answer questions from the audience.

Local vendors such as Unleashed Apparel, Murphy and Bailey, Graceful Goodies, Crumb and Beyond, and Woofterton Tea Company will offer a variety of goods and refreshments for both humans and dogs.

Kirsty Mark, Supporter Relations Officer at Dogs Trust Ballymena

Kirsty Mark, Supporter Relations Officer at Dogs Trust Ballymena, expressed her excitement for the event, stating:

"We are thrilled to host Bark Life, our first event of this kind. It's a fantastic opportunity for the public to learn more about Dogs Trust and our work in Northern Ireland, while enjoying a day out with their beloved dogs."

The event is also an opportunity for previous residents of Dogs Trust Ballymena, now in their forever homes, to reunite with the staff and enjoy a day of canine camaraderie.

Anyone interested in having a stall or donating a raffle prize for Bark Life is encouraged to contact Kirsty Mark on 028 2566 1007 or email Kirsty.mark@dogstrust.co.uk.

For those looking to adopt, the Dogs Trust Ballymena website features a gallery of dogs currently waiting for their forever homes.
