Disgust after wanton vandalism at Ahoghill park

Vandalism in Ahoghill woodland park

The community in Ahoghill have been left disgusted after a scourge of sheer wanton vandalism that took place in the local Woodland Park over the last two weeks.

Having attracted investment from Mid and East Antrim Borough Council in recent times, the park has become a popular spot for local families to walk and enjoy.

However the sight of young trees snapped in half and fencing deliberately destroyed in the area have left the local residents saddened and angry.

Bannside TUV Alderman Stewart McDonald commented on the vandalism saying:

“I am appalled by the vandalism which has been perpetrated in Ahoghill Woodland Park over the past fortnight. This is a facility for all the community, particularly young families. Yet mindless vandals have destroyed young trees and fencing.

“Such behaviour has no place in Ahoghill and has disgusted the good people of the village. I would appeal for anyone with insight into who is responsible for this to come forward to police.”
