Deputy Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Councillor Bréanainn Lyness, hosted a reception for All Saints GAC, Ballymena, in the Braid yesterday - helping mark their 50th anniversary and welcoming both founding members and current players.
He said:
“As Deputy Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, it gives me immense pride to congratulate All Saints GAC in Ballymena on reaching their remarkable 50th anniversary.
“Though situated on Woodside Road rather than in the town centre, All Saints has become a beating heart of our community—a pillar of Gaelic games, culture, and togetherness.
“The club has gone from strength to strength, proving that its impact isn’t defined by geography but by the people, the passion of its members and the generations of families who’ve made it what it is today.”

The Deputy Mayor added:
“This milestone has been a long time in the making, and as the grandson of one of its founding members, All Saints holds a particularly special place in my heart.
“It was both a pleasure and an honour to host a reception for the club’s founding members, many of whom remain actively involved, as well as multiple generations of families who continue to contribute to its success.
“All Saints is more than just a club; it’s a home for players, supporters, and volunteers alike. It fosters pride, unity, and a sense of belonging that strengthens our entire town. Here’s to celebrating the past 50 years, and to 50 more!”
