Delays are expected for drivers this incoming week as work gets underway on a section of the Galgorm Road in Ballymena.
The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) confirmed a stretch of the carriageway will be closed from tomorrow, Monday 21st through to Friday 25th August to allow utility companies to carry out "essential maintenance work".
A DfI spokesperson commented:
“The Department for Infrastructure is planning to put in place a temporary closure of the Galgorm Road from Beechfield Close to the Sourhill Roundabout to facilitate essential maintenance work by a number of utility companies.
"The closure will be in both directions between 9am and 5pm from Monday 21 August to Friday 25 August.
"Vehicles requiring access will be accommodated and emergency vehicles will be facilitated. Diversion routes will be signposted.
"The works is being undertaken during the school summer recess in order to minimise disruption to road users. The Department apologises for any inconvenience caused.”
