A local customer advisor has taken fundraising to dizzying new heights, raising £1,042 for Cancer Fund for Children.

Sharon Nicholl from EUROSPAR Cullybackey, recently took part in a skydive in aid of the local charity which provides support for families living with cancer.

In support of Sharon, the store held instore collections and fundraising events including a quiz night at the bowling club in Ballymena with staff, family and friends.

The Cullybackey store has supported the charity for a number of years, taking part in the annual initiatives including Christmas jumper days and community coffee mornings, as well as an instore cycle, which the store’s team has completed for the past few years and are currently planning for the coming summer months.

The store’s Duty Manager, Andrew Duff, has also been a volunteer at the charity since 2016 starting as a fundraising administration volunteer and recently becoming a youth volunteer, giving him the opportunity to work at Daisy Lodge and on residentials with the charity.

Andrew commented:

“Sharon’s eagerness to sign up for the skydive has been fantastic from day one and our team worked hard to show her support and help her fundraise for the deserving charity. We are very proud of all that we do as a team for this amazing charity.”

Sharon added:

“We have partnered with Cancer Fund for Children for years, but from Andrew’s experience with the organisation to our own visit to Daisy Lodge, we have had the opportunity to see where the fundraising goes and to see that donations like this really make a difference. I want to thank our team and shoppers at EUROSPAR Cullybackey for their support and generous donations.”

Jordana Stoney-Wilson, from Cancer Fund for Children, said:

“We want to thank Sharon and the whole team at EUROSPAR Cullybackey, we are so grateful for their ongoing support. The store’s commitment to fundraising for Cancer Fund for Children is amazing and always goes such a long way in helping so many local children & their families whose lives have been impacted by cancer.”
