Celebrating excellence: ‘Treat Your Teacher’ competition winners announced!

Teachers who won in the Ballymena gift card competition

Ballymena BID Limited is thrilled to announce the winners of their annual ‘Treat Your Teacher’ competition!

Yesterday, Thursday 19th June, the team were delighted to visit a number of local schools to celebrate and honour the exceptional educators who make a significant difference in our children's lives.

The winning teachers and school staff were delighted to be presented with fabulous flowers generously provided by Milson & Berry on Greenvale Street. In addition, each winner received a Ballymena Gift Card, the perfect gift for teachers, allowing them to choose from a wide range of options in over 110 local businesses.

Ballymena BID Manager Emma McCrea commented:

“The original competition received hundreds of heartfelt letters from primary school students, each nominating their favourite teachers, classroom assistants, principals, and caretakers. The enthusiasm and sincerity of these young writers highlighted the profound impact that dedicated school staff have on their students.

“We are proud to highlight the following winners of the "Treat Your Teacher" competition!”

Emma added:

“Ballymena BID Limited appreciates all the teachers and school staff in our local schools! It’s been years since we sat in those primary school seats, so we asked primary school students to tell us why their teacher, classroom assistant, principal, caretaker, or any school staff member is the best.

“We received hundreds of letters, each sharing touching stories of teachers and staff going above and beyond. We really wish we could have awarded everyone who was nominated.”

The Ballymena BID team carefully selected up to 10 local teachers and school staff from the wider Ballymena area to receive a special gift, including Ballymena Gift Card and a beautiful bunch of flowers, as a token of appreciation for their dedication and hard work.
