BBC Sport NI coverage of Irish Open

Irish Open at Royal County Down in Northrrn Ireland

 

A host of the world’s top golfers will tee off at this week’s Irish Open at Royal County Down.

 

BBC Sport NI will have an hour-long highlights programme on BBC iPlayer and BBC Two Northern Ireland on Sunday night with coverage of Saturday’s play on Sportsound on BBC Sounds and BBC Radio Ulster.  


There will also be live text commentary of the weekend’s action on the BBC Sport website.



Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry have been previous winners of the competition while Sweden’s Vincent Norrman will be defending the title he won at the K Club last year.

 

Royal County Down is hosting the Irish Open for the first time since 2015 when Soren Kjeldsen topped the leaderboard.

 

Stephen Watson presents Golf: Irish Open starting at 10pm on BBC iPlayer and BBC Two Northern Ireland on Sunday (September 15).
