Ballymena’s own takeaway App – Ballymena Eats – launches

Today (Wednesday 26 May) sees the launch of Ballymena Eats, a local takeaway app to rival food delivery apps such Just Eat, Uber Eats and Deliveroo.

Using the latest technology Ballymena Eats has several advantages over its competitors, but the biggest is the rate at which it charges Business Owners to use its platform.

A spokesperson for Ballymena Eats said:

“A local takeaway can be charged anywhere between 14%-35% commission by Just Eat and Uber Eats but Ballymena Eats considerably undercuts this by only charging 7.5% commission.

“One takeaway owner speaking with Ballymena Eats stated that he paid Just Eat more in commission last year than he paid himself in a wage and that just cannot be right.”

On top of this much lower commission Ballymena Eats offers local business owners no joining fees, while a competitor App can charge up to £700 to join. Included in the Ballymena Eats service are local advertising, local customer competitions, business support team, local contact & support, and a risk free trial period.

Business owners can sign up and trial the app with their customers and if for some reason they decide it’s not for them then they can return the terminal with no charge and no tied-in contract.

Ballymena Eats can operate alongside a business with its own app and those that are using Just Eat, Uber Eats and Deliveroo. This will allow owners to compare the service they are receiving from the various apps.

Overall, the aim of the app is to support local businesses, help increase their customer base and offer their customers an additional option of how they order their takeaway.

The App is available to download from today on both Google Play and Appstore or customers can order online at www.ballymenaeats.co.uk.

To help celebrate the launch of the app Ballymena Eats will be running a ‘Win FREE Pizza for a Year’ competition on Monday 31st June with details announced on the Ballymena Eats Facebook page on the same day.
